One particularly harsh day, Carlos found himself facing a steep, icy slope. He took a deep breath and began the careful ascent. Halfway up, his ice axe slipped, sending him sliding down. He managed to stop the fall, but the incident left him shaken and more cautious.
As he resumed his climb, Carlos noticed something unusual: a faint trail of footprints leading upwards. Confused and curious, he followed them, wondering who else might be on the mountain. To his surprise, he found another climber, an older man named Miguel, struggling with his gear.
Miguel looked up, surprised to see Carlos. “I thought I was the only one crazy enough to climb Aconcagua alone,” he said with a weary smile.
